Description

3C Marine Red Glue Resin + Hardener 5kg

This glue is used for the production of  lamella beams, veneers, structural glueing, construction of hulls, bows, keels, masts and decks.
The product is approved by NORDSIK LIMTRANAMD in Norway, FMPA Institute in Germany and TNO in Holland. Its features of resistance are certified by: British Standard BS 1204 WBP/ASTM D 905/49/ASTM D 1101/59 DIN 6814.

Features:
This phenol based glue comes in a liquid form and is a dark brown colour, the catalyst is in powder form and is grey in colour. Specific weight of the glue is equal to 1130 kg/mc, whilst the catalyst is equal to 610 kg/mc. The glue dry residue is 56%.

Doses: Mixing proportion: 100 parts glue to 15 parts in weight of the catalyst.

Liquid shelf life: The conditions of use of the glue refer to room temperature as follows:
POT LIFE (mixture time)
10°C 4.3 hrs
15°C 2.15 hrs
20°C 1.15 hrs
25°C 0.45 hrs

When using large quantities of the glue, it is best to cool the glue at 10-15°C and then add the hardener to extend the pot life.

Conditions of use:
Proportion of the mixture
Glue 100 parts in weight, hardener 15 parts in weight.

Relative humidity (moisture content) of the wood
Recommended moisture content of the wood 8-14%. For the production of lamella beams 10-12%.

Conditions of the wood
For best results, wood should be planed. For excellent resistance of the wood, planing should be carried out 24 hours before gluing. Remove all dust particles from the planed surfaces.

Coating
An amount of glue between 300-400 gr/sqm is advised for most parts of the operation. To glue hard woods it is necessary to smear the glue on both surfaces in an amout equal to 150-200 gr/sqm.

Assembly time
The assembly time refers to the time from the application of the glue to the moment of applying pressure. The assembly can be carried out whilst the glue is still sticky.

Glue line Temperature
Minimum hardening time at the temperatures as indicated for the glue line:
20°C - 6 hrs
30°C - 2 hrs
40°C - 45 minutes
60°C - 12 minutes
80°C - 3 minutes
100°C - 1 minute

Unit size 5kg.
