PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Interfill 830 is the best choice for profiling above and below the waterline on steel, aluminium and composite hulls. The special 2-component light grey epoxy formulation can fill up to a thickness of 25mm in one coat without the risk of sagging/slumping.
* Low density composition
* High strength and impact resistance
* Easy sanding
* Waterproof
When sanded, the surface of the Interfill 830 is smooth enough to be directly overcoated with Interprime 820 high build epoxy primer. Interprotect or Interprime 880 may also be used. Interfill 830 is particularly suitable for application over large areas.

Note: Once the time for sanding has been exceeded, all fillers should be sanded before overcoating to ensure good adhesion. A sanded filler may be left for a period up to 3 months before being overcoated with further epoxy filler or with Interprime 8-series. After 3 months the filler must then be re -sanded before overcoating. It is recommended that Interfill 830 should be used at temperatures above 10°C/50°F.
If the temperature falls below 10°C/50°F during the curing process, ensure that additional time is allowed before overcoating the product with solvent based epoxy primers.
APPLICATION AND USE
Preparation All substrates must be primed, clean and dry.
PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES
In Good Condition: Wash with Super Cleaner, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Sand with 80-180 grit paper.
In Poor Condition: Remove all previous coatings and prime the substrate.
STEEL/ALUMINIUM: Prime with Intergard 269 or Interprime 820.
BARE/NATURAL WOOD: Prime stable constructions only, with Interprime 820.
GRP: For osmosis treatment follow the Gelshield specification ensuring the Interfill 830 is only used during STAGE 2.
BARE GRP/COMPOSITE: Sand with 80-180 grade (grit) paper.
If left for longer than 24 hours, two component epoxy primers and fillers will need sanding with 80-180 grit paper to ensure a good physical key.
Method: Mix the two components thoroughly to an even colour. Remove any dust from the surface. Apply firmly in a spreading action. When hardened, sand smooth with 80-180 grit wet or dry paper. Interfill 830 may be overcoated with itself or with Interfill 833 as soon as it is cured enough not to be lifted during the screeding process.
Useful Tips: Thinner International GTA220 for equipment cleaning only.
Thinning: Do not thin.
Ventilation and Humidity Control: Avoid conditions of low temperatures coupled with high humidity as this can result in the formation of a surface by-product which will need to be removed by detergent wash followed by fresh water rinse, or by sanding, prior to the application of any subsequent layers.
Other: Spread mix out on a board to avoid excess heat build up and to keep the working life as long as possible. When fairing a hull, two or three 'cross coats' of Interfill 830 will ensure the desired shape is obtained. Where large areas have been faired, sand with a longboard to allow for the curvature of the hull.
Some Important Points: Do not use unless mixed thoroughly with the curing agent at specified ratio. Do not apply more than recommended WFT at any one time. Do not use below 10°C/50°F. Do not thin. Do not wipe down cured filler with thinners/solvents.
Substrate temperature should be minimum 10°C and maximum 35°C. Product temperature should be minimum 10°C and maximum 35°C. Ambient temperature should be minimum 10°C and maximum 35°C.
Compatibility/Substrates: Do not use on traditional wood constructions where the wood will expand and contract through changes in the moisture content. Interfill 830 should be applied over cured epoxy primers or fillers or onto cured GRP/Composite. Interfill 830 may be overcoated with Interfill 833, Interprime 820, Interprime 880 or Interprotect. Gelshield 200 or Gelshield Plus may be used over Interfill 830 within osmosis schemes.
