APPLICATION AND USE
Preparation: PREVIOUSLY ANTIFOULED SURFACE
In Good Condition: Rinse with freshwater and allow to dry. If old antifouling is incompatible or unknown, seal with Primocon.
In Poor Condition: Use Interstrip to remove all traces of antifouling.
Preparation tips for bare/natural substrates are set out in the relative primer datasheet.
NATURAL GRP: Gelshield 200 for osmosis protection, or Primocon.
STEEL/IRON: Prime with Interprotect or Primocon.
LEAD: Prime with Interprotect or Primocon.
WOOD: Prime with Interprotect or Primocon.
Method: Apply two coats per season.
Useful tips: Mixing: Stir well before use.
Thinner YTA085 Thinners No.3
Thinning is not recommended.
Cleaner YTA085 Thinners No.3
Other: True colour will develop after immersion. It is important to apply the product quantity calculated on the basis of the spreading rate, and if necessary with an extra coat. It is also important to respect the thicknesses as advised to obtain the best results. To prevent poor result and performance, ensure the correct amount of paint is applied using the coverage as a guide (see spreading rate). The temperature of the product should be between a minimum of 5°C/41°F and a maximum of 35°C/95°F. The ambient temperature should be between a minimum of 5°C/41°F and a maximum of 35°C/95°F. The surface temperature should be a minimum of 1°C above dew point and a maximum of 35°C.
GRP, wood, steel/iron, lead. Not suitable for use over aluminium/alloy substrates or zinc plated surfaces. Can be applied directly over most types of antifoulings, provided they are in sound condition
Number of Coats: 2-3 by brush/roller
Coverage/spreading rate (Theoretical) - 10.5 m²/lt by brush
(Practical) - 9.4 m²/lt by brush
Recommended dry film thickness per coat: 43 microns
Recommended wet film thickness per coat: 96 microns
Brush, Roller, AIRLESS SPRAY NOT RECOMMENDED
