Description

Boero Boeroguard Two-component High Solid Epoxy Primer. 2,5 Lt. 001 White.

Two-component epoxy primer based on a combination of resins and pigments that give it excellent physical properties of adhesion, elasticity, impact and abrasion resistance. In addition, it does not deteriorate when in contact with fresh or salt water. It is possible to obtain high thickness during application due to the substantial level of solids in the paint. Ideal for application on ST2 prepared or sanded surfaces.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Steel: Wash with high pressure fresh water to remove any soluble contaminations (oil, salt), if necessary provide washing with specific solvent. All surfaces should be clean, dry and without contamination agents (if necessary, value the salinity level by using the Bresle method ISO 8502-6). The areas protected with shop primer can be applied directly. On areas which present signs of oxidation and/or residue from hot work of the metal, sanding must be carried out (mechanical cleaning) with disc grit 36 at ST2.(SIS 05.59.00 1967). Before proceeding with the coating, blow with clean and dry air to remove all the sanding residue and any dust or dirt. In the case of new buildings, cover the surface prepared to the standard as specified.

Aluminium: Clean the surfaces as per steel. Do not polish the surface with a too-fine grained disc,  the surface (roughness Rz) must be roughly around 100 μ m. Before proceeding with the application of the products, blow with clean and dry air to remove any sanding residue and any dust or dirt.
Fiberglass: Clean the surfaces as per steel. Degrease the fiberglass with Sirio and, if necessary, sand with abrasive grit n. P150 - P180; blow with clean dry air to remove any sanding residue, dust or dirt.
New constructions: degrease with SIRIO and blow with clean dry air to remove any residue or dirt.
Wood: Sand the surfaces, blow with clean and dry air to remove any residue of dust and dirt.

CONDITIONS DURING APPLICATION
To avoid the formation of condensation, the temperature of the surface should be at least 3 °C above dew point. During the application and curing the min. ambient temperature should be 10 °C, or higher than 30° C; substrate temperature must not be lower than 5° C since curing is reduced at lower temperatures. Application is not advisable when relative humidity exceeds 80%. The thermo-hygrometric survey should be carried out near the surface to be coated. It is important to be sure there is sufficient ventilation when the application takes place in closed areas.

SAFETY RULES
In order to protect personal health it is advisable to comply with the EU DPR 303 and 547 regulations. Avoid, for example any contact of the product with the skin and eyes. Use in well ventilated areas,in enclosed areas use aspirators, fans and air ventilators. Wear masks, goggles, gloves while applying the product.

NOTE
The applied product must not come in contact with water, chemical products or submitted to mechanical stress before the curing is completed. The wet film thickness refers to an undiluted product. In case of dilution, this value increases.
