Description

Boero Delta 3000 Universal Epoxy Primer. 0,75 Lt. 171 Red.

High-quality epoxy primer, used as an anchoring coat on difficult surfaces such as aluminium, fibreglass, steel and wood. By applying thin coats of the product, this helps in fixing the subsequent coats, whether they are fillers or intermediary high-build two-component products. It is recommended as a primer for marine cycles for surfaces that are both above or below water.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Steel: Powerwash with freshwater and remove every trace of oil and grease (if necessary, wash with specific solvent). All the surfaces to be painted must be cleaned, dried and free of all contaminants  (if deemed necessary to assess the degree of salinity, use the method Bresle ISO 8502-6). Carry out sanding treatment using Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1/3) or clean mechanically St 3. For surfaces covered with shop primer, perfectly intact and adhering, after consultation with our technicians, a commercial blasting Sa 2 or alternatively a cleaning machine capable of St 2 (ISO 8501-1/3) is advised. The degree of roughness advised is Rz, obtained by shot blasting or mechanical cleaning 40-80 μ m. Cover with the primer Delta 3000, the metal treated to the standard above and before the appearance of oxidation and / or change in colour. Before proceeding with the application of the products provided, remove any sanding residue and dirt by blowing clean and dry air. For preparations with a lower surface or repairs: See the technical department.

Aluminium: Clean the surface as per steel. Sand with coarse discs until the metal is sliver, completely free of residue and oxidation and covered with Delta 3000 on the same day of preparation described above. Be careful not to polish the surface and without exceeding with the incision, the surface (roughness Rz) must be roughly around 100 μ m. Before proceeding with the application of the products provided, blow clean and dry air to remove any sanding residue and dirt.

Fibereglass:  Clean the surface as per steel. Degrease the fiberglass with Sirio and, if necessary, sand with abrasive grit n. P150 - P180; it is advisable to use primer on the treated surfaces within 24 - 48 hours. Before proceeding with the application of the products, blow the surface with clean and dry air to remove all sanding residue and dirt.

Wood: The moisture content of wood must not exceed 18%, sand thoroughly with grit n. P80 - P120; before proceeding with the application of primer Delta 3000 blow the surface with clean and dry air to remove all sanding residue and dirt.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS
To avoid the formation of condensation, the temperature of the surface should be at least 3 °C above dew point. During the application and curing the min. ambient temperature should be 10 °C, or higher than 30° C; substrate temperature must not be lower than 5° C since curing is reduced at lower temperatures. Application is not advisable when relative humidity exceeds 80%. The thermo-hygrometric survey should be carried out near the surface to be coated. It is important to be sure there is sufficient ventilation when the application takes place in closed areas.

SAFETY RULES
In order to protect personal health it is advisable to comply with the EU DPR 303 and 547 regulations. Avoid, for example any contact of the product with the skin and eyes. Use in well ventilated areas,in enclosed areas use aspirators, fans and air ventilators. Wear masks, goggles, gloves while applying the product.

NOTE
The applied product must not come in contact with water, chemical products or submitted to mechanical stress before the curing is completed. The wet film thickness is referring to an undiluted product. In case of dilution, this value increases.
