APPLICATION AND USE

Preparation:
VC OFFSHORE: Wash thoroughly with freshwater.

OTHER ANTIFOULINGS: Check for sound condition.

BARE GRP: Use VC General Thinner to clean and fully degrease the surface. Lightly sand with 240 grit paper. Rinse with fresh water and allow to dry.
Use VC Tar2 to prime and protect against osmosis.

STEEL: Prime with VC Tar2 to prevent corrosion.

LEAD: Prime with VC Tar2.
WOOD: Prime with Primocon.

Useful Tips:

Mixing: Stir well before use. Pour the dry ingredients (stored under the plastic cap). Stir or shake thoroughly.

Cleaner: YTA600 VC General Thinner.

Airless Spray Pressure: 176-210 bar. Nozzle diameter: 1880-2180.

Conventional Spray Pressure: 2-3 bar. Nozzle diameter: 1,5-1,8 mm.

Other: For Airmix spray application: Pressure. 2 bar. Nozzle diameter: 20-113.

Some Important Points.

The colour will develop after immersion. It is important to use the quantity calculated on the basis of the indications of the spreading rate, and if necessary applying an extra coat. It is also important to apply the correct thickness for the best results. To prevent poor results, ensure the correct amount of paint is applied using the coverage / spreading rate as a guide.
Product temperature should be minimum 5°C/41°F and maximum 35°C/95°F.
The ambient temperature should be minimum 5°C/41°F and maximum 35°C/95°F.
The surface temperature should be minimum 1°C above dew point and maximum 35°C.

Compatibility/Substrates

GRP, Wood, Steel/Iron, Lead. Not suitable for use over aluminum/light alloys or zinc-plated surfaces.

Number of Coats
: Apply 2 coats per season.  Apply an extra coat in areas subjected to greater wear such as rudders, sterndrives, keels, walk areas etc.

Coverage / spreading rate

(Theoretical) 11.7 m²/lt by roller
(Practical) 10.5 m²/lt by roller

Dry film thickness: Recommended per coat: 30 microns, by roller

Wet film thickness: Recommended per coat:  83 microns, by roller

Methods of application

Airless spray, conventional spray, roller
